This Tuesday 08/31 wraps up our 2nd leg of the 2010 Tuesday Night Shoot League. Remember the two low scores are thrown out to establish the final standings. Our non scoring Tuesday nights will continue until the end of September. Please give a hand in helping to pick up the 14 targets at the end of each night. The pick up goes alot quicker and easier for all.

Your board in action.

  • Thanks to Mike Dickerson and Tommy Young for repairs to the shade shelter and to Rick Berg for his very generous donation of material.
  • We are in the process of trying to get new club decals with the new club logo.
  • We're working on getting new signage for parts of the site.
  • We hope to have a new art piece for the broadhead pit soon.
  • Over time, non-native plants, including trees, have been planted on the range. These are going to have to be removed. Note, DO NOT remove them as an act of volunteerism yourself. These plants are owned by people who will take care of their removal.
  • The July 4th range party was a huge success, as you can see from the picture links.
  • Ed Parodi has volunteered to head up equipment management.
  • And, speaking of equipment, please put things away neatly and out of the way when returning items to the shed. And clean them off—use a brush or other tool to remove mud, grass and other such cruft.
  • There is no Wounded Warrior shoot this September.

Rain has caused us to cancel tonight's League Shoot (5/25). Sigh... I guess that means I'll be out there with a bucket and a mop tomorrow. See you all next Tuesday.

One of our members recommends the following:

Hello Fellow Traditional Archer,

It is time again for the North Idaho Traditional Bowhunters 12th Annual Summer Shoot at The Cabin!

Many of you who are receiving this email have attended this shoot in the past, and you know it is one of the best All-Traditional Shoots around. We are trying our best to make this year the best ever!

As usual we will be serving our delicious and FREE (donations cheerfully accepted!) breakfast and lunch both days.

This year we have added even more camping areas, many of them with fire pits. We have also purchased even more targets to add to our already large inventory – many shooting stakes will have 2 – 5 targets each!

We have also ordered a new supply of N.I.T.B. t-shirts and, new this year, “hoodie” style sweatshirts and a limited supply of specialty shirts. Most sizes will be L or XL, but we are willing to special order a different size for you if you let us know within the next 10 days. We also have a limited supply of hat pins for sale.

As usual we will be holding different novelty events, and unlike almost all other clubs these are 100% payback events with multiple chances to win! The club doesn’t keep any money from the novelties, we just want you guys (and gals) to have fun!

Many previous attendees have remarked that the custom, handmade arrows that are given to the top three scorers in each category are unique and treasured trophies. I think you will find that this year’s arrow-trophies will be the best ones yet. Come and try to win one!

We know that in these difficult financial times clubs everywhere are seeing their participation falling off. We are no different. We hope you will be able to make it to our shoot so we can keep hosting it for you every year. But if you can’t make it this (or even if you can) we would really appreciate it if you could help us out by spreading-the-word to your traditional archery friends and encouraging them to come.

Finally, setting up and running a shoot of this size is no easy task. Therefore, we would like to remind you that anyone who shows up on range set-up day (Friday, June 18th) to help us out will have their shoot fees waived! That’s right, you can shoot for FREE just by pitching in and helping us set targets!

Please see the attached flier for more information. I’m happy to receive emails or phone calls if you have any questions.

Hope to see you at the shoot next month!

President
